Upgrade Pavilion p6-2037cb / ATI Radeon HD 6770 1GB PCI Express X16 / Antec EA500 ATX 12V 500W

Can I put a Radeon HD 67701GB PCI Express X16 video card and an Antec EA500 ATX 12V 500W in a HP Pavilion p6-2037cb? Will these components fit in this tower, and if so, will this set up work for Diablo 3? Yes. It's that important. lol

Hi,

Your choices are good but the below recommendations would be my alternative choices for your PC.

The AMD 6770 is a little weak for modern games.  The AMD 7850 would be a much better choice.

The Antec EA 500 is an OK PSU but this Corsair CX600 would be a better choice.

After you get the video card and PSU replaced then you should assess whether or not a processor upgrade is required.

Review this posted document for selecting a discrete video card.

Awesome! Thanks. You gave me the answer to my question, and a great alternative. I had to go with the two specific items in my subject line because I got both of them in good condition for well under retail. I just wanted to make sure that there would be no known issues with installation. The game I play shows the Radeon HD 6770 as one of the supported high performance video cards on the website. I know it will be an upgrade from what I currently have in there.

Hi,

When considering a video card, also consider the monitor's resolution level and the game settings.  The higher the monitor resolution and the higher the game settings will require a better video card.

If your monitor is only 1024 by 768 and you are using the lowest game setting then many video cards may work.  However, you may not like the result.

I have a question about graphics cards also. I have the HP Pavilion P6-2037cb desktop.  It currently has a standard Intel graphics card.  I play world of warcraft and it takes alot of juice.  I'm looking to upgrade the graphics card but i do not know the first thing about computers.  Whats the best highest choice for a graphics card and that will be compaitble???
