Upgrade graphic card?

I have an HP pavilion elite HPE H8-1140sc with Nvidia Geforce GTX 550 ti as graphic card and i want to upgrade it to a Geforce GTX 680 and my question is if i can do that?

You will need to upgrade the PSU to do that.  Otherwise if you just replace the original video card your PC will not boot into windows at all.

 

The video card's system requirements are:

Minimum of a 550 Watt power supply.
(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 38 Amps.)
 
 Two available 6-pin PCI-E power dongles

Ok but can i i then upgrade to an Geforce 560 GTX ti without upgrading something else?

Nope. That one also requires a PSU upgrade. The GTX 560 Ti has only slightly lower requirements Reference source: NVIDIA
