As the title says, I am looking to upgrade my processor from AMD Athlon II X4 620 to either an AMD Phenom II X4 925 or an AMD Phenom II X4 945, and I was wondering if I could do so without having to flash my BIOS? I have a HP Pavilion P6228P-B with a Pegatron M2N78-LA motherboard. If this is not possible, what processors would it be possible to upgrade to without flashing?

Hello atomi5k, Here is the link to the HP specifications for your system. You can look in the Processor Upgrade section to see which processors are supported for your system.
It does appear that your system will support the processors you mention.
There is a BIOS release version 5.22 for your system. It can be located Here .
If would check the current version, and if it is not this latest version, I would update to this latest version, to insure compatibility with any processor upgrade.
Hope this helps.
