Upgrade usb port

I have a Pavilion 540n.  I need a high speed 2.0 usb port. I found a Belkin PCI card but it requires the operating system to have 2.0 support.  How can I tell if I have it?

The Belkin works just fine with XP. The USB 2.0 drivers are provided by XP.

The tech guy we use at work said this would work ( I have ordered it):

Digital Peripheral QU2FCNPCI USB (Universal Serial Bus) 2.0 and Firewire Combo PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) Adapter

Worked perfectly. Windows found all the drivers without the need of the CD.
