Upgrading GTX 260 on my a6455d pc

Hi everyone, I want to ask if my PC Case can accommodate the size of the GTX 260 video card.

I will upgrade it in replacement of my old GF 8400 128mb

I asked BFGTech about its length but I haven't got a reply yet.

Thanks

BFGTech will tell you yes but there are several here that will tell you no. To date, we have not seen anyone have any success. It's just to much card. It comes in contact with items on the motherboard and takes up two slots.

HP support told me that it is compatible on my motherboard and I asked them if it would fit inside my computer case but no response for now, still have to wait.

How about the 9800GTX+? will it fit?

by the way i forgot to mention my motherboard:

I really cannot tell you that these will fit correctly. I can tell from my experience by chatting with others here and from friends that have attempted to install these cards that they do not fit correctly. If you read reviews even gamers with custom cases complain about the space it takes up.  There are other cards that have the specs and take up less space.

Use this for a little help. Also remember that you'll need a better power supply.

Re: Upgrading GTX 260 on my a6455d pc

I am looking for both, Looks and Specs. But if that card can't fit, I might go rather into the 9800gtx+ or GT

Last time I opted for a ATI Radeon HD 4870 card but it turned out many people are complaining about heat issues and other technical problems about it.

I haven't opened it up yet. The possible obstruction on my motherboard are the following:

1.) SATA Connectors

2.) The black fin or heat spreader of some kind near the PCI-E slot

3.) Capacitors near the PCI-E slot.

4.) Hard Drive SATA wires. ( I will need to put my hard drive into the second slot to make way for it. )

Does not look very doable for your motherboard. Those GFX cards are so wide and long that it physically certainly limits their use.

That is also another double-wide card.

Your motherboard has some physically limiting characteristics.

You might want to consider limiting the upgrade to single slot PCIe X16 graphics cards for physical space compatibility. What I mean is single wide graphics cards only as they will fit your case/motherboard.
