Upgrading and Copying SSD C:drive, what is "system drive"?

Title about covers it, I am upgrading the 256GB C:drive to a 512GB Crucial M4 SSD, from the stock SSD.

I thought I would just copy C:drive from my windows home server, however upon opening the backup, I see "system drive" in there as well.

What is it?  Is it particular to SSDs?

Is there a better way to clone one SSD to another?

Ok, I used a cloning program and swapped out the drives.

I press Escape during boot to enter BIOS and I am trying to push the new SSD into 1st or 2nd choice to boot; however whenever I select the drive, I don't get a chance to change the order, the computer just goes straight to the drive:R and boots to desktop.

Am I going to have to boot with a Win7 disk and can I change the boot order from there?

If I just try to boot, it ends with a cursor flashing on a black screen, when I choose the drive in BIOS, *bam* desktop.

Ok, I poked around the BIOS and changed the boot order... it's ALIVE!!
