Hello I'm trying to find a compatible processor for my desktop that has at least 2.5 ghz or more. It's very hard to find any processor that has an AM2+ socket that is good enough for the specs I want. I've found two:
AMD Black Edition - AMD Phenom II X4 3 GHz Processor
and
AMD Phenom X4 Quad-core 9950 2.6GHz Processor
I don't know if either of these are actually compatible though. I'm a little hazy to upgrade because I've had problems upgrading other parts to my CPU before. Any help and other suggestions on processors would be great!

Hi,
Based on this, here is a list of processors supported:
Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:
Phenom with Quad Core (Agena) technology (AM2+) up to 9600 (up to 95 watt)
Athlon 64 X2 with Dual Core technology X2 up to 5600+ (up to 89 watt)
Athlon 64 less than 4000+
Sempron less than 3800+
I would not try anything outside its specs unless just for fun.
Regards

Do you know of any websites where I could find the proper processors? And if i try one with slightly higher wattage such as 125 would that be bad for the motherboard?

As banhien stated in his previous post "I would not try anything outside its specs..." While, I doubt a 125 watt CPU would cause any damage to the m/b... anything is possible. Also, at boot the computer will most likely display a message like "unsupported processor installed" As far as finding a CPU, you will have to search the internet in an attempt to locate one you want. Because the AM2+ is a mature product line, it may be hard to find.
