Video Card - Do I need it?

Hi everyone!

I'm a big lover of my DVD's and playing them on my computer (http://www.amazon.co.uk/G5206uk-Desktop-Pentium-LightScribe-Windows/dp/B00457WT4E).

I was interesting in watching the DVD's in High definintion providing I buy a Internal blu-ray reader and a graphics card to plug a HDMI cable from my computer into my monitor (I do have a HDMI connection in my monitor but not my computer).

Is it worth me getting a graphics card for high definition DVD watching or shall I just not bother?

Thank you for taking the time to read this post.

Regards

P.S. I have been looking at this one (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-11166-02-20R-5450-DDR3-Graphics/dp/B0036DD4CO/ref=sr_1_1?s=computer...)

Re: Video Card - Do I need it?

Hi:

A 400W power supply is recommended for that card, and your PC comes up short at 300W.

It may, or may not be an issue.

I have the Radeon HD 6570 in my HP 8200 Elite CMT that has a 325W P/S.

The recommended P/S requirement for my card is also 400W.

It works just fine in my PC, and in fact it is one of the optional cards that HP installs in it.

You may want to look a litte more for a card that recommends a 300 - 350W P/S.

That's up to you.

Paul
