Hi all, hoping this is a pretty simple query for someone out there....
A client of mine has a HP Pavilion Slimline S3514 UK - I'm pretty certain it is out of box spec.
It's running Vista!
I would like to upgrade the RAM - what is the maximum allowed and which SIMMs/DIMMs are required?
I would like to get it to support gigabit ethernet speeds on the network but note from the specifications that it only supports 10/100 - It seems to have a spare PCI type slot but I am struggling to find out online if this is a) Free and b) What type it exactly is so I can specify a suitable gigabit ethernet PCI card.
Can someone help?

This link should answer your questions about the RAM. Check in the memory upgrade information section on the page. Here is a link to the support portal .
The interface slots are PCI Express. The long slot is PCI Express x16. The other is PCI Express x1. A standard PCI gigabit ethernet card will not operate in either slot. You will need a PCI Express x1 gigabit network card. Here is a selection of PCI Express x1 cards at NewEgg.com
Best regards,
