Will SATA300 Hard Drive work in Presario SR2180NX (RK548AA#ABA) PC Desktop

I have a Compaq Presario that is a couple of years old--and want to put a second hard drive in it? All the new internal hard drives are "SATA300."  Will that work in the Presario SR2180NX (RK548AA#ABA) PC Desktop?  I have read some blogs saying that some older PC's lack a connection for the SATA cable.

You can install an additional SATA Hard drive in your computer.

 

You have a total of four SATA ports on your motherboard. It appears one is being used by your Hard drive and the IDE port is being used by your DVD drive.Therefore it appears you have three SATA ports that can be used, however the computer chassis allows you to add two additional drives. One hard drive and one optical disc drive. So go ahead and install that hard drive and add another DVD drive if you would like as well.
