Will it run?

I have a HP Pavilion a1630n computer which has a 300w PSU.  I bought a Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT graphics card.  The graphics card says that it requires a "Minimum 400w or greater system power supply".  I'm wondering if I could attempt to use this card or would I need to upgrade my PSU first?

Thanks for any help,

Will

You need to have the minimum 400W PSU.  You'll have a number of problems if you don't...such as no display or ruining the system by overloading the PSU.  Not to mention, you probably don't have enough power connectors for the card....have you checked yet?

Re: Will it run?

Well, I had this card and I also had a PSU of 460W. It could barely work with a 300W PSU, but you will have lower performance and maybe some stability issues. Considering what the manufacturer says, I reccommend you buy a PSU of 400W+ in order to get the full power of your new GeForce 9800 GT.
