Re: can't get the wireless to turn on on my hp d5100t

Your HP Pavilion Elite d5100t CTO Desktop Computer came with one of the following networking options:

None

PCIe internal modem & Wireless LAN 802.11 b/g/n & external antenna

Wireless LAN 802.11 a/b/g/n & external antenna + Bluetooth

Wireless LAN 802.11 b/g/n & external antenna

Please post the the wireless device's Hardware ID from within Window's Device Manager. This is found under the Details tab in XP, may be different in Win7.

Re: can't get the wireless to turn on on my hp d5100t

It came with the wireless LAN 802.11 b/g/n and external ant. It does not show up in the device manager. It use to work but I never needed it because the computer was next to the router. I think it may have stopped working after I installed windows 7. Need to get it working again because had to move router. Thanks for any help.

Re: can't get the wireless to turn on on my hp d5100t

If it doesn't show up in the device manager, it will never work. Even with no driver or several conflicts, the device should show in the device manger. No being displayed means the is not electrically connected and may need to be moved or reseated. It may also signal other issues to come.
