Can you run a pci-e 2.1 graphics card in the Pavillion a1700n?I'm running windows 7 Ultimate- 64 bit version.

IMHO it should work with the motherboard on the listed computer. Most are backward compatable as long as the slot is PCI-e x16 (which the a1700n has). Be careful of the power supply requirements of the chosen video card, however.
