I have a Compaq Presario Model 7994 and would like to connect it to the Internet. I now have a dedicated cable line having the type of end on it similar to that which you would plug a phone in the the wall. My computer has no such related receptacle. Is there an adapter available to connect the cable and the computer and what would it be called?

I was unable to locate any specific information on your particular model. You can normally find either and add-in Network Adapter Card or a USB Network Adapter, but given the age of your computer, I'm not sure either of those would work. Your machine may not have USB ports on it and, again, I was unable to verify any information about the type of expansion slots in this model, so I can't recommend a specific NIC for you. I'm sorry I don't have more information.
