error message "align cartridges"

my hp psc 2175 and 2210 all-in-one printers has "align cartridges" error message. can't clear. oper sys mac osx. changed ink both. able to print but can't copy.

am-austin,

In most all cases, HP printers are ARI (and I do not mean any remote intelligence).

Removing any ink cartridge causes this behavior.
