Re: graphics card

Your HP Pavilion Slimline s3632me Desktop Computer has a 160 watt power supply and requires the use of a "low-profile" graphics card. The Galaxy 61TPS4HX2LNX GeForce GT 610 you have linked to requires a minimum of a 300 watt power supply. No retail graphics card will work in this computer, without replacing the power supply with a more powerful unit. Please see Athena Power Inc for power supplies that may fit your needs.

Re: graphics card

And only a marginal 3% difference in performance. see here

Re: graphics card

ok so the site you gave me says that the geforce 9500 gs requires a 350 W power supply despite that it ran fine with my 160 W power supply for almost more than 3 years ? i'm confused now, so compared to that the gt 610 should run fine with my system?

Re: graphics card

lo0ol,

The factory installed nVidia GeForce 9500GS graphics card is a special low powered / low performance OEM version made for HP. This card has been designed for use in the HP Slimline series of computers with sub-200 watt power supplies. The webpage you are looking at, is for a RETAIL GeForce 9500GS graphics card and is not the HP OEM version in your computer.

As an alternative to purchasing a RETAIL card and a new power supply, you may be able to purchase one of these HP OEM cards;

533124-ZH1  PCIe NVIDIA GT 210 512MB low profile graphics card (Oribi)
533126-ZH1  PCIe NVIDIA GT220 1GB low profile bracket graphics card (Topi)
576698-ZH1  PCIe ATI HD5450 1GB graphics low profile card (Evora)
NG024-69001  PCIe 512MB ATI Radeon HD 4350 graphics card (Aries) - Low profile mount

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
