I have a HP Pavilion p6228p Desktop PC. A few months ago Windows would freeze and I would restart and it would work, but then it would freeze again. I thought it was hard-drive but I replaced it. I was able to install Windows but now when I turn on the desktop it just goes to the HP logo. I tried setting the bios to system defaults and swapping SATA connections and even tried the old drive. In the bios it's not detecting the hard-drive at all but I can hear the hard-drive spinning up.
Do you think it's the power supply? If so where can I get an replacement.
Thanks in advance.

If it is not detecting the hard drive in the BIOS, then there is something wrong with either the hard drive, the BIOS settings or the motherboard. First make sure the connections for the drive are correct and the SATA cable is plugged into one of the SATA connectors, preferable number one which is lower left of the four as described on this page: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docnam
If the drive is still not detected, then some troubleshooting should tell which area the problem is. Start with the BIOS, making sure the correct settings for the SATA detection is active. A screenshot of the SATA detection screen would be beneficial.

As pointed out, you have the infamous and problematic M2N78-LA motherboard. It is a known defect.
