I have a customer with an hp a6720f . The mobo went bad , and of course , you cant get one from hp , so I end up ordering one and the original unit came with an AM2+ and I get a AM3 

  • Motherboard manufacturer's name: Pegatron M2N78-LA
  • HP/Compaq name: Violet-GL8E

    • My question is will the AM2+ processor fit in the AM3 motherboard? I know you can go the other way or is the pin configuration different?

    Check out the AM3 microATX boards at www.newegg.com At least two of them indicate that you should be OK.
