hp pavilion video card compatibility

I recently purchased an HP Pavilion, model #: P7-1234.  I'd like to throw in a XFX Radeon HD 6870 in thurr.  Should I be prepared for any issues with this?

Re: hp pavilion video card compatibility

Hello,

I would not install that card if I would be you on your system, simply because the power supply on your card is 300W and with that PSU, you could face issues with your computer.

Just for you to see, the CPU only gets 100W and this card in full power drains from the system 159W.

You need to remember that the remaining parts also need power, memories, ODD,etc...

So, in case you really want that card, please consider to get a new PSW of 400W at least, or you choose another card with a lower power consumption.

THanks,
