is this possible?

I have a hp pavilion p610y with an AMD AthlonII x4 630 quad core processor. Up until a couple of days ago it was running fine and then without warning no video. This computer had integrated video.I took it back to where I boughtr it and was told they could run a diagonostic and find out the problem.I questioned this because there was no video. They said no problem-they had ways.Anyway the result came back that both mother board and processor were bad. I questioned this as well because all the fans powered from the board were running.I asked how much to fix and had a fit whwn I was told approx $500.I told him what I thought of that. found the same processor at AMD for between $113and $133.

What I need to know is this-was I told a pile of junk and is it worth fixing this?

Re: is this possible?

If you meant a p6130y, the motherboard is likely dead, You just became a member of the infamous M2N78-LA.
