Hi , I have bought one used m9280.it having an internal wireless device for keyboard and mouse connections.
The previous owner broke the two tiny coax cables removing the top cover, so he disconnected the RF device from the motherboard.
I would like to restore this, I have the device, can restore the two tiny cables to the antennas on the top cover, but I do not know where on the MB should it be connected, and am not able to find those infos on the HP site.
I also would like to know where the original cables were passig to go to the two antennas, and where was fixed or placed the tiny printed circuit with the RF transceiver, and names of the original drivers for it .
Somebody may help me ? Many thanks in advance!

Post Scriptum: I did ask previously for this Info on a thread named "wireless" but went here not to usurpate the previous owner who started it and who felt usurpated by my InfoRequests. My apologies for that!

Do you see a wireless symbol on the front of your PC? If yes, then it should be wired. HP uses different wireless card maufacturers so you might have to install the card and post the hardware IDs to locate the drivers. Your card might be wireless with out with bluetooth.

Hi Big Dave,
Thanks for following me here and going forth with your Infos!
Wireless symbol: yes, there is right under the "Easy Back Up" Button, and has a LED right under; on the small board I described in the previous ( the "usurpated") thread with model numbers etc, there was a connector for that LED on the front panel. [ Maybe would it better to move those messages of mines here?]
By the leaflet of the PC I guess the rf device was solely intended for keyboard and mouse connection; but not sure about that.
No infos obtained by the previous owner. For the drivers, maybe they are included i the ordered HP Restore CDs with the Vista OS. I'll see as soon they will be here.
