Re: my computer beeps wen i turn it on and doest start up at all...plz help

Most of current MBs have AMI BIOS.

Try looking into the Chapter 8.2 of this document:

http://www.ami.com/support/doc/AMIBIOS8_Checkpoint_and_Beep_Code_List_PUB.pdf  for help and trouble shooting. Otherwise provide your Product Number to identify if your MB is not having another brand of BIOS.

If this will help you Kudo would be  appreciated.

Re: my computer beeps wen i turn it on and doest start up at all...plz help

can i ask if how many beeps? if 1 beep its - video card if 2 to 3 beeps - RAM REMEDY / SOLUTION : 1. (VIDEO CARD)- remove the video card clean it up... you can use eraser...make sure to remove the dust/lint ..... 2. (RAM)- If the problem is the ram ... its the same.. remove the ram clean it..the same as you clean the video card...but if you put back the ram to the slot...make it sure to lock it up and tighten up..just monitor it that its not loosen... that all... i hope it helps...

Re: my computer beeps wen i turn it on and doest start up at all...plz help

May be the problm with Memory (RAM) , Mobo problm or may be Video Problm.

So you need to do only 3 steps :-

1. Reseat the RAM once carefully but 1st clean the RAM cheap with the help of any eraser rubber , thn install the RAM in another RAM slot but before this plz clean the RAM slot too.

2. If you have Graphic card (GPU) thn reseat graphics card also with carefully.

3. Reseat your Processor once, and clean the socket also where we put the processor.

4. Reseat the CMOS battery:-

You can see how to reseat the CMOS : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4fDSQap2Qo

or link :

5. Reseat the DVD CD ROM cable once.

Thn try once again, plz try to start your Computer once again. If issue stil persist thn may be your Memory gone bad or may be your Mobo.

Re: my computer beeps wen i turn it on and doest start up at all...plz help

I think you can remove the hard drive and it will not harm your warranty..... remove the HDD... attach it on another PC and move your data....

then contact HP support... and i hope they will also request you to perform the same steps as Roberts suggested except for Processor ..

MOBO is MOtherBOard.. :smileytongue:

Mobo means Motherboard. Coz your Computer is still in under warranty if you are not ready to open it thn dont do that. Yah its beter if you take it or call any Prof for that .I think your Hard drive is SAFE so no worry about your all files or document. :smileywink: ..
