needing help

hello guys,

 

i'm new in computer world so i'm in needing of some help.

I want to set up a server machine in a small company with 6 users 'nd i want to run 2 services (Domain 'nd a file service) on the same server and i got this server at my disposal: a HP ML 350 G5 E5310

Now my question is if I install it will it run smoothly for the 6 users?

It shouldn't be a problem for the services that you mentioned.  However, it might be a problem if heavy cpu intensive or I/O intensive applications are run at the same time on the server.

 

Use a gigabit network with the adapter set to full duplex.  The more memory the better along with fast disk drives.

 

 

You will have to manage user expectations on what to expect for service. What do your users expect for performance and response time?  How much down time can be tolerated?  How often do are the files to be backed up? How many backups should you keep?

 

How about; backups, UPS, redundancy issues, etc...
