personal media drive not recognized

After a windows update on 9/3 I started to get an error message saying a USB drive was not recognized. It turns out my media drive was no longer found. I had it installed in the drive bay in my computer (Media center m8200n). I have tried removing the drive, rebooting the pc and then reinstalling and still not recognized.

I have the same problem.  Is there a solution.  My hardware checker says to download a driver to make it start, but I have not been successful.
