Re: processor replacement

Thank You Sir for the prompt reply. But i am still unsure. I have already what you listed and am aware that my motherboard only supports a 95 Watt processor. I currently have a Phenom II 910 installed. I really need to know if I can replace it with the Phenom 960T. The specs above indicate 9xx and 9xxE. I cannot find a 95w processor with a "E" designation or a 900 series that's 95w. That is why I asked specifically if a 960T was compatible with my motherboard.
Any help would be greatly appreciated Sir.

Re: processor replacement

Hi,

Based on the following, it is in the same family, socket and TPD it should work.

DO NOT BUY IT!!!!

I sure hope you haven't bought that 960T processor yet.  Based on my experience with that MB, it almost certainly will NOT work.

The 960T is NOT the same family - it is NOT a quad-core chip - it is NOT a "Deneb" processor.  Technically it is the same architecture as the "Thuban" prcessor, but AMD calls it a "Zosma" instead - it is a six-core processor (Thuban) with two cores disabled.

Re: processor replacement

Thanx Much Sir. Based on what you stated above, I didn't order it. Do you have a recommendation for my motherboard? Since i have to replace it I am looking to upgrade it. Can't really afford a brand new computer yet.
