recovery error

Hi guys,

 

I got compaq presario desktop with xp operating system,  i try to reboot the system using recovery cd, it started well but in the middle of the session it keep on asking for cd no.5 stoping at Base_17.INF. i tried frequent time puting  and restart t hesame cd but it keep on asking the same. can anyone suggest me how to fixed that error

Have you tried cleaning the cd with a soft dampened cloth? You might also try making a copy of the cd using a burning app such as Nero, Roxio, Sonic RecordNow etc_whatever is available that has copy capability.
