Hi,
Let us know if the four pin floppy connector works or what you do to work around that issue.

Hi Big_Dave
Thanks for your continued help....
I have now replaced the in-situ 300 watt PSU that comes with the HP ML330 G3 with 750watt Corsair and so far so good. No smoke nor burning smelly order than the chips and salmon' I'm currently preparing for supper.
Regarding your question, yes, the Floppy bay size is the same size as that of 80pin scsi 10k rpm. disk There is a 80 - 68 pin converter which plugs in nicely into the internal ribbon cable of 68 pin male. The 750w corsair PSU comes with 8 x 12v morlex connectors, these can be connected to additional 12v adapter connectors as necessary to power up those scsi 80 - 68pin converters
The rest of daisy chaining scsi disk is easy, the two external channels can be used to connect to more scsi disk in a different case / chasy unithaving a total of 28 scsi disk daisy chained.
Everything is now set, my only issue now is to do with knowing how to configure RAID properly and this constant warning messages about Battery Backed Write cache' on the smart array 6400 card however I'ld post that on another section of this forum. This can now be closed as per the initial issue with replacement of PSU for larger wattage.

Hey Big_Dave.
Did you mean the pictures of the 80 - 68pin converter are not showing via your client browser ? I am currently using IE, I'll test with firefox now... Firefox is not showing this image, very strange, checking settings as we speak, don't wait up though try IE...
Hope you don't have any content filtering settings via the browser you are using or a third party technology acting as a proxy / stripper ?

Hi,
I am using IE 64 bit and the image is not showing up (just a dim lit caution sign).
A moderator may have to approve your image if you posted it directly. I'll ask a moderator to look at it.

Hi guys,
Finally managed to solve these issues with Smart Array 6400 controller and the constant warning messages about bettery not being charged hence disabled until fully charged.
There was also the issue with HPB5 firmware update. Eventually I had to search for Firmware CD 7.40 and 8.00 off HP website.
All of these issues have now disappeared, I guessed that the battery did eventually got charged, the firmware however upgraded the ROM of the ML330 G3 and the scsi disks i.e. the one mentioned here HPB5 and other ones not displayed on the pictured. Please see below these images as displayed otherwise if not seen, please get the moderator to release the blocked images for those willing to know the end result.
The smart array controller 6400 has since stopped displaying error messages.
Now focusing only on FREENAS iSCSI target for Citrix & VMWARE Xenserver-ESXi / High Availability. END !![]()
