s3230uk upgrade help needed.

I have just acquired a HP S3230UK and would like to upgrade the processor and the graphics card to one with a HDMI port.

The current processor is an Athlon 64 X2 4400+, would changing it for an AMD 5200+, 5400+ or 5600+ be alright, they are all 65W and Brisbane processors?

As for graphics card I wanted to swap the original for an Asus AMD Radeon HD EAH5450 512MB card.

Would this be suitable? It is a PCIe, low profile card and I thought if I used a SSD instead of a HDD, it would save some power.

Any other advice would be appreciated.

Here are the specs for your s3230uk desktop computer. According to the specs, it has a 160 watt power supply unit which will severely limit your graphics card choices as most retail cards require a 300 watt or greater PSU. Also, the added heat in the small slimline case may cause overheating issues. HP may have graphics cards that are custom spec'd to require less power and generate less heat which would be suitable for your application. Upgrading your CPU should be fine but HP doesn't specify a core and/or model # that you can upgrade to. A SSD should give you a little boost in hard drive throughput and save a couple of watts.

Thanks for your help, it looks like I will have to use a ATI 4550 instead.

I am thinking taking out the DVD drive (I have an external one) to help save even more power and help airflow would help also.
