sony hi 8 movie data to hp p6724y

might there be an adapter which would allow audio/video input so movie  information from sony camera would transfer to computer and then burn a dvd.  thank you

Based on its specs and its motherboard:


It has:


Expansion Slots

  • One PCI Express x16
  • Two PCI Express x1 (can use this)
  • One PCI
  • One PCI Express x1 minicard socket

you can have few options


1. Buy a PCI Firewire (or in Sony terms iLink I think) - this is my preferred option.
2. Use a USB - Firewire converter


You then can tranfer video tapes from the video camera to your PC using Firewire port then burn them to DVD's. You can also convert data to DVD format and burn to DVD's which can be played on any standard DVD player.
