Re: upgrade memory

Thanks for contacting the HP Forum.

Your PC has 2 DIMM slots that are configurable as follows:

  • 256 MB DDR/PC2700 (2X128MB)
  • 512 MB DDR/PC2700 (2X256MB)
  • 1 GB DDR (2X512MB)

It appears that on this HP unit 1 GB of memory is the maximum.

My response is my own and not HP's.

Re: upgrade memory

Hi lilviv,

Your PC should be able to support 2GB.

Re: upgrade memory

This PC can support 2GB of memory as based on the motherboard spec. The PC specification may say a different number because it is based on what the full PC had when it shipped and what the power supply had been tested with under that hardware configuration.

If you have issues after upgrading your memory, you may need to install a power supply with more power, but my hunch is that you will be ok upgrading the memory. Now if you have upgraded other components like the video or audio card in the past, you may want to install a more powerful powersupply as well.
