upgrading graphics card

Help I have a HPE-575uk desktop and find the present graphics card cannot cope with my 3D cad software. I would like to upgrade my Geforce GT 420/PCIe graphics card to a Quadro K4000 graphics card which is designed for 3D cad software. I have an Intel i7 2600 3.45 GHz,  PEGATRON CORPORATION motherboard
Model 2AB6 (CPU 1), 16GB ram. Will the quadro work and fit on my mother board

Hi,

Review this posted article on: Guide to Selecting a Discrete Graphics Card Open up your PC and do some measuring. This PNY K4000 should fit.

Just one other question do you think I will see a marked difference in performance, just want to make sure I'm not making a huge mistake and spending all that money

Re: upgrading graphics card

Hi,

The K4000 is a "big" bucks professional video card. I check with the 3D software manufacturer, explain how you are using the software and see what recommendations they make.  It might depend on the size of the objects and the number of underlying layers.
