upgrading memory on Pavilion A210.dk

Hi..

 

Anyone who knows if its possible for me to upgrade the ram on my Pavillion a210.dk. I have borrowed 1 gb.  DDR 400, 3200 mhz, CL 3. Can they be used on my MO. without destroying it??

Hi.. thank you for the answer. Are you sure that the MO can use pc3200? Do you know if it is compatible with 1 gb on a ramslot?

According to your PC's motherboard specifications :

 

Memory Type DDR
Memory Speed PC 2700
Memory Sockets 2 DDR-DIMM 
Maximum Memory 1 GB DDR 333/DDR 266

 

Sometimes a board will actually take more than what HP lists as the max - but I would not go over that amount... Not unless I knew for sure that the board took more and not without upgrading the power supply. I figure HP tests the system and there is good reason for why they don't want you to go over the max.

1GB is more than adequate for that old PC.

To be safe, I would use 2 x 512 sticks. I wouldn't try to put in 1 GB unless I had an extra one lying around and wanted to see if it works.
