Accessing System Recovery via Boot on SR1514NX

[ Edited ]

I have a Compaq Presario SR1514NX running Windows XP SP 2.

The other day after uninstalling a printer driver and restarting the computer, my computer crashed. While booting it would suddenly restart. I try the different boot modes (Safe Mode, etc.), but it would always reboot before it is done booting.

What I think will fix my computer is to recover it back a few days before I uninstalled the driver, but I could only find instructions to reformat my computer to factory settings. I know this program can be accessed in BIOS in Vista, but I cant seem to be able to find it in XP and would like instructions on how to access it in BIOS in Windows XP.

Thank you,
Charles

PS: I do not have a copy of recovery CDs.

EDIT:  I was just thinking, I am not sure if the computer was SP2 or SP3

You can attempt a standard recovery. It will leave all your files intact.
