Hi,

You have made a statement based on the improper use of available information which has made it incorrect. Read the specs for the PC and the system requirements for the CAD program. I provided links for you to do that.

Here are the specs for the Intel Core i7 2600. The capabilities of that specific processor exceeds the required specs. The included Windows 7 OS is on the list of the system requirements. The amount of RAM exceeds the requirements. The video card is well above the requirements of both CAD programs.  I know a person who has been using AutoCAD for years for sales using PCs that have had less capabilities than the model you referenced. The make of PC my friend uses does not happen to be an HP model.

System requirements for AutoDesk - AutoCAD and Solidworks

If you own the model you have been discussing I suggect that you contact Solidworks.com and ask for product support.

regards,
erico
