Hi, i have a Compaq 100b small form factor pc, that i bought in the beginning of October, about a week after i bought it, it started freezing and having trouble turning on, so i contacted HP and i was told to download a driver and it didn't work. When i turn the computer on it almost always beeps 5 times with the orange light and the only way to make that stop is to hold the power button down, or unplug it, i usually have to do this multiple times, and about twice a week this requires a system recovery. Then once i finally get it turned on, i freezes frequently was a square of static around the cursor and must be forcefully shut down. Open to any suggestions.

Hi:
Normally if you are getting 5 beeps it means you have a memory problem (hardware).
I recommend you go into the BIOS and run the memory diagnostics test. If it fails, you then need to isolate the problem to the bad chip.
The only way to do that is to remove each memory module until the PC runs normally. Then you know what module is bad.
Then seek a replacement module under your warranty if your PC is under warranty, or from the memory manufacturer directly if the PC is no longer under warranty. Most memory has a lifetime warranty.
Below is the link to the service manual for your PC:
