Computer is not starting

On Mar 8,2012 I bought a HP Pavillion 8-hp 1100 htz CTO desktop with 20 HP monitor from the HP remarketing dept.

It has been working fine until this AM. I had put it into sleep mode Fri night and when I hit the keyboard space key to awaken

it, nothing happened. The computer light was on, the monitor light was orange, and the keyboard light was orange. I kept moving

the mouse and touching the keyboard, but nothing happened. I eventually turned the computer off with the power button. I unplugged the monitor power button to reset it and then restarted. This time the monitor said no input signal and went blank, the

computer is on with fans running and monitor light is orange, but the keyboard does not have a light on. I turned it off again and looked inside and checked all connections, I plugged the keyboard into a different usb slot, restarted and power comes on, this

time nothing comes on the monitor, monitor light is orange, no keyboard light, computer power is on and fans turning normally.

I am posting here since it is Sunday and help is not available elsewhere. I am hoping someone has an idea what I can try. Thanks for any responses.

Re: Computer is not starting

Hi,

If you are using a wireless keyboard and mouse then change the batteries and see if the keyboard light comes on.

Your PC is still covered under warranty so contact HP Support.  HP's support number is 800-474-6836 or 800-HPINVENT or online here.
