Have renewed Norton anti virus system recently, But nothing else out of the ordinary. Please help. Only new to forum so need to use baby steps. Thank You

I am having the same issue. My desktop seems to be eternally frozen. Instead of my mouse's pointer being an arrow it is now a constant rotating circle acting like it is processing something to open. When I go to task mgr there is nothing listed. I can open the desktop items by going to start, programs, etc. Just started doing this 2 days ago.
