Re: Elite e9150t Freezes/Locks up

[ Edited ]

My Computer has been running without any BSOD and/or hang-ups and freezes since the "repair" 17 days now.

But for the past 3 days the darn thing has a new "quirk", if I play my game (Dawn of Discovery) a fan (maybe Video Card ???) goes in to a higher RPM and even when I'm no longer playing the game will not go back to the lower RPM (even after 2 hours of screensaver).

I have to turn the Computer off to get it to go back to the lower RPM (restart did it yesterday, but not today).

Does anybody else has that problem?

Re: Elite e9150t Feezes/Locks up

I have read randomly through the 145 pages of posts regarding the HP system problems.  I have countless HP products that I have bought over the years and was about to pull the trigger on a new e9180T.  I am glad I found these posts.

It is a real eye opener to read the stories from each of you and the response/non response from a company that we have invested so much in.  Am I ever so thankful that I found this post.

It has really changed my perspective on my current and future purchase plans.

Re: Elite e9150t Freezes/Locks up

I am supposed to get the FedEx box from HP today or tomorrow for repair #2.  I wonder if I should send it right away and most likely get another defective system or just wait another month or so to send it in in hopes that HP will have officially "found the problem" and know how to correct it.  What do you guys think?

Honestly, I am tempted to just send it in as soon as I get the box just to laugh at HP and the amount of money they've wasted on this huge disaster they've created for themselves.  They could send me 20 replacement systems.  I don't care.  I am going to keep sending it back until they give me one that WORKS.  I plan on using my warranty to its fullest!

read it here!

Dont waste your time, i have already done it for you!

SEND IT BACK, do not take "i am not authorized" for an answer!

If we all box our piece of sh** computers and send them back we will win!

Here is my 1 week old system's specs...

HP Pavilion Elite e9150t PC
• Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1 (64-bit)
• Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-950 processor (3.00GHz, 1MB L2 + 8MB shared L3 cache with QPI Technology)
• 12GB DDR3-1066MHz SDRAM [6 DIMMs]
• 640GB RAID 0 (2 x 320GB SATA HDDs) - performance
• 1GB ATI Radeon HD 4650 [DVI, HDMI, VGA]
• LightScribe 16X max. DVD+/-R/RW SuperMulti drive
• Wireless-N LAN card
• 15-in-1 memory card reader, 1 USB, 1394, audio
• No TV Tuner w/remote control
• Integrated 7.1 channel sound with front audio ports
• No speakers
• HP multimedia keyboard and HP optical mouse
• Microsoft(R) Works 9.0
• FREE UPGRADE! Norton Internet Security(TM) 2009 - 3 year from 2 year

My computer has crashed over 20 times in 1 week, sometimes 3 or 4 times a day. you bet this is going back in a box to hp with a giant turd in the cd drive!
I bought it for music production and recording and it cant even burn a cd without crashing!
internet explorer locks up and freezes

the mouse locks up and the sytem freezes
Adobe audition software crashes and leads to BSOD.

Cd burning caused BSOD

Tech help is clueless or pretends to be
System recovery twice with no problems
Hardware diagnostic 3 times passes with flying colors
BUT the computer cannot do everyday tasks without catastrophic crashing around every turn.
i never thought i'd say it but DUDE i'm gettin a dell!

My son and I play Empire at War once in a while.  Mine does the same thing.  The fan stays on high after any taxing graphics until shut down or restart.  You can also go to Nvdia control panel and slow it down.  I tend to suspect this is more of a quirk with the video card than an a problem with anything HP specific.  Next time they offer me a replacement I'm going to ask for the ATI 4850.

Can anyone create a new thread with a Poll here?  I couldnt figure out how to do it  It will give us an overview of the number and type of problems that people are facing.....

for starters:

1. No problems to report - systems runs solid

2. Rare lock up to report

3. Some problems - holding out

4. Too many problems - exchanged system multiple times - no Avail

5. Returned the System for Refund.

6. Dont own yet - thank god i saw this thread.

Re: Elite e9150t Freezes/Locks up

I have to boot twice every morning to avoid the USB ports from going down. there has to be some sort of hardware fault on the mobo associated with heat cycling. it takes my machine (m9600t) 15 to 20 minutes before it locks up on the first boot. that machine continues to run for a while after the USB ports shut down and if I leave it run without any intervention it goes to a blue screen error
