Please pass on the information about the power switch information when you get it, I know there are a few wires that have to be changed around but I'd like to have that info in my back pocket for future reference.
I will if and when I get a reply. The user that did the upgrade has not posted for a week. I sent him a PM with my email address.
If I get the info, I'll find a way to post it for download.

MY COMPUTER FINALLY FROZE !!!! After 12 hours of testing... it locked up. The first 5 hours was simply turning the PC on from cold boot and logging-in. Letting the PC eventually idle, screensaver (RIBBONS) would come on, but the PC was set to stand-by after 5 hours.
When I came back home, roughly 6 hours later. The PC had gone to sleep, I woke it up. And attempted to browse the web, turn on windows media player, and even put in a DVD. No lock up.
I let the PC idle for 5 more hours, it eventually went to sleep. Then later this evening, i woke up the PC for the SECOND time, and then (as mentioned in my posts just a few hours ago) my USB HUB suddenly would not work... and I almost thought the PC froze, but it did not.
Just 2 hours or so after my last post, I let the PC idle once more... i went to watch a movie in my living room for roughly 96 minutes... and when I came back to check on my PC... the RIBBONS screensaver had locked, PC pronounced dead (again for the millionth time) @ 9:36pm this evening. That's a little over 13 hours of observation.
I just reboot PC, and things were back up like normal. Desktop resolution didn't change, time/clock did not change, USB HUB works again. I will be packaging up my PC tonight, with the BOX that my case manager sent me on Monday. I really believed that 5.22 BIOS was going to be it... but false hopes are now shattered.
D@MN YOU HP !!!! I was already ANGRY -- and now I am FURIOUS!!! I DEMAND A REFUND -- I DON'T CARE ANYMORE FOR REPAIRS, BIOS UPDATES, OR ANYTHING ELSE -- I AM TIRED OF THIS S**T ....
I am running TRUCKEE Mobo v 1.04 BIOS 5.22 ... and yes it's running in RAID.

One piece of data that I am curious about is where users live (and possible climate/temperature factors)... for example... I live in SW Florida (generally pretty hot, and AC turned on all day keeping this house (and computer room) around 80 degrees? Also, my PC is not enclosed in a cabinet and sits on a desk with a ceiling fan (usually on all day, about 8 feet away) ... so the room is generally well ventilated... but perhaps others might have different setups... IDK... just trying to detect patterns and coincidences that may help.
My system was out in the open with plenty of airflow too, but I live up north where it's getting cold now. A lower ambient temperature will make thermal problems more likely, I would think, since there will be a bigger difference between the cold state of the machine and its warmed-up state. So perhaps that is one source of the differences.
All in all, however, I think the biggest source of differences is varying specs in whatever bad components or marginal designs are present in the system (most likely the motherboard). The three machines I went through all displayed varying rates of failure, so something in HP's manufacturing process (or that of one of its suppliers) must vary in and out of spec.
In any case, I am very glad to say that I just got my refund from HP and I'm officially done with the e9180/e9150 nightmare. At least HP's Home & Home Office returns department worked well. I can't say that for their tech support or their manufacturing departments, but returns worked flawlessly :-).

Me thinks this attempt at getting these systems stable through BIOS adjustments is nothing more than a kludge to get shabby harware crippled enough to be stable. Even if they get this to work, it would be like having to run windows in safe mode all the time because if you ran it normally it would crash. Would any of us settle for this as a satisfactory resolution?
None of us bought a brand new state of the art system only to have it detuned enough to be stable. These systems are already delivered with the slowest rated ram speed settings available and even at that they have resorted to going to a 5 slot config to cripple triple channel performance. Fortunately, even extreme attempts by HP to make these systems perform at dual core speeds are insufficient to make everybody's systen stable.
Sorry HP, no sale at my register.
