Re: Elite e9150t Feezes/Locks up

[ Edited ]

Well I had the replacement motherboard installed just before the end of 2011 (dec 30) and unfortunately the lockups and freezes did not go away.  Tonight I installed the System Info for Windows utility and I have the

PEGATRON CORPORATION
Model TRUCKEE
Version 1.04
Serial Number [Personal Information Removed]

installed on my machine; there is no E behind the 1.04!  I'll be contacting HP in the morning for a second replacement motherboard.  What a headache!

Re: Elite e9150t Feezes/Locks up

I have suffered with the very same problem everyday for the last 8 months and had to do a hard reset each morning to restart the PC. Sometimes, I had to do this 3 or more times until the computer became "stable". The same issue would arise after leaving the computer for a while and then trying to wake it up again!

Eventually, I couldn't take it anymore and decided to get a PC technician to take a look. First thing he did was update the Nvidia graphics drivers. No luck!

Then he opened up the box and took out the cooling fan that is supposed to cool the Intel chip and found that to be quite hot! After some dusting down and then applying some conduction cream to the fan housing, the computer has been working fine everyday for the last 1 week. No issues anymore.

If there are, I will update on here again if I face problems again.

In the meantime, I have installed a software that can keep track of the temperature of certain components in the computer. I want to make sure that the temperature doesn't become elevated again.

Re: Elite e9150t Feezes/Locks up

FYI - Running CPU-Z, here is the output from a system with an updated motherboard.

Again - it doesn't matter what the motherboard revision is - look for the E in the motherboard revision.  In this case it was 1.04E01 - but any revision with E has the update in it.

I was using CPU-Z version 1.59 - you can find it or a newer version for download on the internet at cpuid dot com.

Re: Elite e9150t Feezes/Locks up

Sumsolstice,

So what I want to know is why they installed a flawed replacement motherboard in my machine?  It doesn't make any sense to me, but I'm definitely returning it for another replacement.  Sad, just sad.

This is what I have:

Re: Elite e9150t Feezes/Locks up

The graphic didn't make it up.   If you can - private message me with some details, such as the service call ID, your SN, or your contact information and I will have someone look into this...  Don't post it in the forum proper.

Re: Elite e9150t Feezes/Locks up

I am finally giving up.

I have had this machine for over 2 years. After this first half year of continuous lockups, HP replaced the motherboard. I now have a 1.04E.

It was much more stable, shutting down only once eery couple of weeks.

In the past few weeks it started again, crashing every day. I will replace the motherboard with a M-ATX of better quality.  I have already replaced the power supply and graphics card.

Can anybody recommend a mobo that will easily plug into the e9180t case?

Thanks

Re: Elite e9150t Feezes/Locks up

I want to thank sumsolstice for helping finally solve the motherboard problem that I've had for over two and 1/2 years.  I returned my 'repaired' computer the second time.  I had the box back within a week and this time they had 1.04e version of the board.  I have had no problems with the computer for the past two + weeks since I booted it back up.  I can run the computer in energy savings settings and the computer hasn't frozen up once.  Thanks again Sumsolstice!

Re: Elite e9150t Feezes/Locks up

I know this forum applies to e9150t, but it seems my PC - a m9600t Elite is also effected by these same issues. I have had numerous issues with this PC over the past 3 years. It started with lock ups and blue screens like many have posted here. I updated to the latest BIOS and it seemed to help the system be more stable, however the lockups did still occur - just not as frequently. Well more recently I began having random restarts. It seemed to occur any time the processor was put under any significant load. No error message or blue screen was generated. It would just shut off and turn back on asking if I would like to restart in safe mode. Eventually the machine got to where it would not want to boot up. The lights come on the front the light on the power button light up, the fan starts up for a few seconds and then it shuts off. It repeats this over and over again. Some times it will stay on for a few seconds longer but then shut off. I was able to get it to come on eventually and if left on it ran fine. However if shut down the same issue would occur again. Now it will not come on at all.

The issue reminds me of a similar issue with a Samsung TV I had. Capacitor related. Trying to build up enough power to come on clicking on and off. I do not believe this is a power supply issue because the green light on the power supply is on and solid. I believe the motherboard is fried. I am aware of the lawsuit that was brought, however unfortuantely I did not respond in the alotted time which I believe was March 1st. Any assitance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have found several sites selling IPMTB-TK Truckee motherboards and specifically a part # KX745-69001. I am unsure of what version these motherboards are, but I have read on this forum and others I need to look out for version 1.04E01 with E being the important factor.
