In my case, I've seen hangs hours after coming out of sleep so I'd say you now have a MOBO like mine ![]()

ATTENTION TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN AT HP...
I too have shared this information along with your own forum to my upper management as I am responsible for the purchasing of various HP hardware for the use in the Security Integrations market. If our compnay, which by the way is also global where to pull something like this with our client base , especially within this lean and competitive economy, we would be looking at restructuring.
I would think that recurring revenue from loyal customers such as those of us posted here and those who remain to be quite would especially be important in today's economy... sadly I have been proven wrong.

when I changed to a real motherboard I noticed 2 things 1) while using the HP CPU cooler the the vreg temp was way to hot, changing to a cooler that blows air down on to the board fixed that instantly and 2) at IDLE the computer was consuming over 30 watts less power than the pegatron was and that leads me to believe that its defective, poor quality or overheating vreg.

damndonzi,
Could you please point us to the CPU cooler you used? I also want to order the EVGA and wouldn't mind switching the CPU cooler as you suggested. Thanks in advance.

how exactly does it go into sleep mode? Do you have sleep-after-n set? If so what is n? Or do you press the sleep button from menu or keyboard?
I have just gotten a chance to coldstart my 9280t after a very long off period. I want to be sure of exactly what my next testing step is. I have auto-sleep set to never. I may have to start the test cycle from scratch if it is important that auto-sleep kicks in. (was reading another thread where that seemed to be the case for that person).

If you want to properly test the system for the defect you should disable all sleep and hibernation options and turn the computer off over night, then turn it on the next day. If it's going to freeze you don't have to do anything else, it will freeze even when it's idle.
