Re: Elite e9150t locks/Locks up

HPSAD

Okay I was able to flash the Truckee board with the original IPMTB-TK bios. Version 5.09. After going back and forth with a few moders and slp hackers we or should I give the proper credit by saying they got it going. I do not know if it will correct any HP issues because even they don't feel it had anything to do with the basic input output system, The genneral concensous is a poorly configured system with resource conflics. Someone else has been working on this and releases of the Pegatron factory pre-hp bios are out there in cyberland. I will not post one or supply one as I have been advised not to so due to the current turmoil and despleased HP coustomers. But anyone looking to find this mod can find it by looking for IPMTB-TK bios 5.09.

I had our version working and the one posted online working this weekend on the HP Trukee board and the Pegatron IPMTB-TK retail board. There was very little difference between what we did with and the availible bios online I found later when I searched for it. It did roll back the 5.13 bios the 5.18 and the 5.22. I don't have my hands on 5.24 so I didn't check that.

If you follow instructions well you will succeed at this. If you interupt the process, have a power loss mid process or cancel out the process in any way you will reder your bios inoperable. A kit is availible retail for about $350.00 to correct frozen chips which consist of software and an eprom program card if you do screw up. But who wants to go through all of that. Quite honestly the only benifit to doing this would be to gain features that HP has blocked in the bios and enable OS installation with out having to enter your license key. It is not comonly agreed that it will correct your issues in anyway.

I have said it before... I am not a bios specialist I work mostly on hardware issues and networks. However in speaking with these script writers even they feel the same about the issue with these boards. There are those out there like myself playing with these boards with great success. Even others like me with boards pulled from believed to have been faulty HPs. I wasn't aware of this but it apears there are many of us taking advantage of this situation. What ever the cause is however... one thing is clear HP needs to step up. Hp needs to fix this once and for all. They need to make a public statement other than they are looking into it.

One more time I will say what I have always said. My posts reflect only my own experience with these boards and these issues. I do not endorse nor appose any suggestions as to a soluion or action to correct any issues. Statements I have made have only served me in the maner I have stated and are not a blanket solution. If you try anything I have mentioned you do so at your own risk and as if you alone concluded that your steps could serve you. My statement are made as a mater of fact they are not personal so please do not react negatively.

Update... both of my machines are still running very stable. I ordered the Pioneer BDR-205 blu ray burner and it should be here today. In a few weeks I should be getting 12gb of OCZ memory as well. I will let yu guys know if there any conflicts.

Again Good luck with your issues.

MarkDickinson, what revision is your motherboard?  If they aren't installing the 1.04E01 then get your issue escalated to a case manager.  The cold boot freeze is a well known issue and HP is fully aware of the problem even though they still deny it.

Re: Elite 50th locks/Locks up

Not everyone here seems to understand the english language, in this case ill say nothing further except whats below.

Sandar2020, I have been modding bioses with SLICs and unlocks for over a year, and let me tell you that you're crazy to be reverting these crap bioses on crap motherboards. We prepared a 5.13 bios for half of the members to revert back to, read the last 50 pages. IT FAILED MISERABLY. It ran the PC about an hour and then crashed. My advise to you all is stop being a buch of beta testing fruit loops get the motherboard E01 that ISNT defective, and abandon this forum forever :smileyvery-happy:. Also, why on earth would you need an SLIC mod? Just ask for a replacement computer e9280 series with windows 7 already on it. They wouldnt be able to offer a windows 7 upgrade if the 2.1 slic wasnt already in it.

Any other questions?

You should revise your post before submitting. Very hard to read and understand.

Windows 7 Upgrade Kit

I know this is "off topic".  I also know that I can probably get a quick answer here from my fellow e9150t adventurers......

My Arvato Windows 7 Update Kit has been approved and is on it's way.  A couple questions:

1.  Will I have the option to do an update or a fresh install?

2.  If I do the update first and decide a blow-out/fresh install would be better, I should have no problem re-doing.  Correct?

3.  I have another HP Desktop I actually use more then the e9150t.  Could I install it on my m8530f instead?

4.  Any chance of installing on more than one HP computers?  I also have an HP tablet/notebook running Vista 64.

Re: Elite e9150t Feezes/Locks up

I have a m9600t with the bad 1.03 motherboard.  To answer one persons question is yes their still sending them out with bad motherboards.  I received mine on November 24th.  Should have done my homework on the model.  My m9600 w/ i-920 has all the same symptions as others posted and can always depend on it to crash first thing after a cold start.  Big Thanks to all in this forum.   After reading I have a replacement motherboard coming and tech to install Monday.  I told support that it was a bad motherboad and I wanted it replaced.  She came back after talking with her "support specialist" and confirmed that's my problem and they were aware of it.  If that doesn't work it's refund time for me.  I expecting the 1.04e01 motherboard with 5.24bios.  Is this the definate fix?

Re: Elite e9150t Feezes/Locks up

Hi sean,

The 1.04-E01 mobo has been the fix for new e9280t since mid-Nov. Just check the last few pages of the e9280t thread for all the happy campers over there (me included -received mine on 11/17).

Ron...

To try and answer your questions:

1. You can choose to perform a fresh install.

2. If you do the update first, you can choose to perform the fresh install later.

3. You may or maynot install it on another HP computer.

4. You cannot install it on more than one computer.

It is a complete Win7 OS, with a Product Key and will have to be activated within 3 days.

Once activated on the first machine, it cannot be activated on another computer.

I tried to upgrade as HP suggest, and the OS was corrupted. I had to perform a fresh install.

Hope this helps.
