Re: Elite e9150t Freezes/Locks up

Don"t feel too bad, my HP homeserver just had a primary hard drive crash.  So now I have to get that fixed before I can do the backup/restore routine when or if my desktop replacement arrives!

ARRRGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is definitely my last factory purchase.  Custom building everything from now on!!

Re: Elite e9150t Feezes/Locks up

Can anyone tell me if this problem is mostly limited to HP's Core i7 systems?

In other words, would their 9000-series PC's with other Intel or AMD processors likely be OK, or should I opt for 6000-series?

I'm still shopping, and thankful I checked the blogs!  Good luck to all who are suffering through this mess.

Yes, this wide spread problem only affects HP systems with the Pegatron IPMTB-TK motheboard used by all of the Core i7 models.

Re: Elite e9150t Feezes/Locks up

send it for an exchange or refund unless your patient for this issue to be fixed . I sent mine for a hp pavilion p6180t this computer doesnt seem to havee problems at all i searched it up and you can upgrade its grphic cards to 1.5gb nvidia geforce gt230 and everything else its almost the same as elite, just the graphic card for elite and power supply is better but it is by far cheaper...for now becuase of the sale...

Re: Elite e9150t Feezes/Locks up

I got my e9180t the end of august and am having all of the same lock up problems that everyone else is having. It seems to be the worst with in 10 minutes after turning it on. I spent an hour and a half talking to customer service in india but that was no help. He wanted me to call back and talk with the next level but I dont see much point. HP do something soon! This thing cost to much to thow away!

Re: Elite e9150t Freezes/Locks up

My eSATA port works fine, actually and I have a e9180f.  For all the other things that are wrong with the motherboard, at least my eSATA works so I can back all my files up.

Re: Elite e9150t Freezes/Locks up

@Doonyman: could you check your driver version for the eSATA.and post, please? The info is in the Device manager approx third up from bottom of the list. Mine doesn't work in a plug and play mode on the eSATA.   Tried booting with the eSATA connected and the drive powered on; the box couldn't boot the OS at all (major disaster ensued).    I suspect it is the driver.  I know the drive and cable are good from testing on a gateway box.

I'm one of the few who has received a good replacement e9150t. With my lemon I ordered recovery disks from HP and it still didn't fix it. If your still within the 21 days my advise is to get a refund. If not you might have to jump thru hoops in order to get a replacement. I was lucky, I was still in the 21 day window and demanded a refund. They then talked me into a replacement. I paid $2500 for mine (and that's without a monitor) so feel dammed lucky I got a good one. After paying that much it better be good.

PS, I'm looking forward to getting Win 7. Is it as good as advertised?

I am well past that 21 day mark. It has been nearly two months for me. Even if I exchange it, I risk the chance of getting an even more defective unit. My 9180t freezes every 2-3 days and has only had the BSOD 3-4 times or so. I guess that is really good considering many people have their machines lock up after just a few hours of use.
