Thanks! I did so.
I have worked with a lot of a technology over the years, I am not sure I have ever dealt with a piece of hardware that has been this troublesome.

Hello amunhbuu, I know what you mean. You can never get software to work properly if you have some hardware fault.
If you can manage to get the motherboard replaced, it seems most of these systems work properly thereafter.

I guess it was too good to last. The replacement 1.03 rev. MB that HP installed just over a year ago in my E9150T has started to give me the bsod as well as black screen lockups, so I called HP today at the toll free Limited Warranty Service Enhancement Program # and will be getting the latest fix for this ongoing defective mb problem.
They checked my serial # and knew that the mb had been replaced once already, but gave me no grief about sending it back again for this free mb replacement program.
Hopefully, the 2nd time will be the charm.
Will report the results within the next 2 - 3 weeks.

Finally something from HP. Got my E9180F in Jul 2009. The only work around to the freezing thing was to leave the computer on 24/7. I rarely shut it off unless I'm out of town. The machine is running just fine if I leave it on.
Going to give this a try, and see if the fix really works. Other than that, the bluray player stopped playing back blurays, the HP player software keep saying the format is not supported. These are the only 2 issues I had with this unit.

Received my e9150t back from HP today. Belarc advisor says:
"Board: PEGATRON CORPORATION TRUCKEE 1.03E
Bus Clock: 133 megahertz
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 5.29 09/17/2010"
This was done via the free MB replacement program.
I'll put it to the test and hope that if a problem pops up, it'll be within the next 90 days.

Just for reference. The "E" in the motherboard version indicates it has the change needed to resolve the issue that occurs on some motherboards. Some have said you need 104E01 or something like that - all that matters is the "E" in the version number.
Myself - I ususally use the Gabriel Topola's SIW utility to find the motherboard - there is (or used to be) a freeware version that didn't require an install to run - just download the exe and run it. I think the newer versions require purchase or do a trialware thing.

Got my replaced motherboard e9180f back. The MB version is 1.04E01, BIOS 5.29.
So far so good, no locks or freezes.
