1. HP Pavilion a6655f Desktop pc
2. Windows 7
3. BIOHD-4 Unitialized/Corrupt Boot structure.
I'm getting this error on diagnostic tool (f9 start screen). I've already tried bootrec commands through prompt@system recovery and even through EasyBCD inside windows (yes, i can log on windows, but diagnostic still gets the error and the logs until windows is opened is now shown different, i always get a ramdisk or windows option before).
At this momment i'm running the long test of my hard drive on BIOS, to check if the problem is indeed my HD.
And since i can still log on windows, i wonder if this is an ignorable problem (i don't really think so, will probably stop logging on windows with time... but it's always good to ask).
Any other suggestions?

Hi,
It will be easier to get an idea of whether this issue means replacing the HDD when the comprehensive test has completed - post the results back here.

Test Finished: Passed
Self-Test Status Value: 0 (Completed without error)
Looks fine...

Hi,
Before trying the following, I would strongly recommend making a back-up of all your personal files etc.
If you don't already have one, use another PC to create a Windows 7 Recovery CD. Download the relevant ISO from the links below.
You should use an application such as ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD. Once created, or if you already have this, insert the CD and restart to boot from it. Select the Repair option.
Select the 'Repair your Computer' option and follow Option 2 in the guide on the link below to run Start-up Repair (linked to in the guide) – you may need to run this 2 or 3 times. Although the link below is primarily for systems that don't boot, I believe this may correct the corrupted boot sector.

Doing that, will i not have the same effect as trying to do it from the windows 7 DVD?
(boot from it, and choosing startup repair), because if it DOES have the same effect, i've tried and it didnt recognized any problem =O
I'll start the process u mentioned already, nevertheless.
@edit
Yeah, just checked the guide u posted, and it does have the same effect.
Then it is answered already ;S
It doesn't recognize any problems! =O

Hi,
So this is a retail version of Windows 7, not the OEM?
If that's the case, definetely check the Sata cable connection between the HDD and the Motherboard and if possible try a different sata cable.

My windows is downloaded from microsoft partnership site with UFRJ (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro - [Federal University of Rio de Janeiro]) linked to my enrolment number. =P (Windows Seven Professional 64bits)
Anyway, many thanks for the help. I'll buy another cable and test it soon.
