FREEZES UP - hp pavillion dv9000

Hi I own a   hp pavillion dv9000 laptop.  I had it serviced for two recalls last year and got my machine back working fine.  Well, I purchased an hp photosmart printer and after a few months, started receiving the "hpProductAssistant.msi" fiasco going on... so finally I just decided to restore my lap top BACK to it's factory settings.

So I transferred my essentials and restored it. Printer works fine and I dont have the  hpprod assistant error mess going on anymore.

HOWEVER, this is what happens now after my restore:   after working on my machine for around one hour... it will freeze up and not even respond to ctrl+alt+delete.  So I have to do a hard reset and start all over again.  Once the first hard reset is done... I get as far as a black, blank screen with only a moveable mouse showing... So i do another hard reset and then the machine works fine ... but ONLY for aobut an hour then it freezes up again.... and I have to go through this whole process again - over and over.

I'm a web developer so this is really really bad - especially since I had this laptop fixed for two other factory recalls.

What can be done about this other than going with a different brand and losing $1000+ ?

Thank you and please help,

kabrenica

Re: FREEZES UP - hp pavillion dv9000

dear kabrenica,

sorry to hear that the god of the ether is playing with your happy life...my suggestion is to set your laptop to 'never sleep'...such high levels of rest seem no good for these machines...let me k no how this goes...

regards...
