HP Pavilion P6-2054uk, Windows 7 Pro-64bit, Intel HD Driver BSOD

Good Evening hope you are all well.

My company has just recently taken delivery of a HP Pavilion P6-2054uk.  As is normal policy for us we format the PC and reinstall Windows 7 Pro 64bit which I have just done.  All has gone well... I am sitting at a functional desktop.

I then proceeded to download the drivers from this location (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=uk&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5222...), being sure to select the 64bit versions.

I then installed the "Original Intel Graphics Driver - 2011-11-03 , Version:8.15.10.2291 Rev. A, 80.85M" and when Windows reboots I get a BSOD (it disappears very quickly so couldnt get the details).  I have done no other updates at this point.

If I then go into Safe Mode and rollback the graphics driver to the "Default VGA" it just works, but obviously my resolution is limited.  So really need to get the Intel HD working...

Just wondering if I am missing something here?  I installed the driver as an administrator...

Any help would be appreciated...

Try this variant of the driver from an 8200 Elite and see if that works.

I just checked the Intel site for their latest HD driver and I get a page not found error...

Same problem. I get the BSOD upon reboot and I have to rollback to the "Default VGA Adapter".

Sorry that didn't work, Jamie.

I don't know why you are getting that error. I have read a couple of posts regarding the Intel HD driver bluescreening on other HP desktops but I have not found any posts listing a solution to the problem.

You installed the chipset driver first?

I have an AMD Radeon 6570 in my 8200 Elite, so the onboard Intel video is disabled, so I didn't have this issue.

Actually there is no chipset driver under the list of available downloads for my model on the HP website.... At least not that I can see.

I was having some difficulty looking up the chipset driver on the intel website. I think their website has had one or two issues today.

Try the chipset driver from the 8200 Elite.

Sorry, still no go Paul, but thanks for all your help.

Tried the following.

1.  Install Chipset driver as per above link.

2.  Tried installing the official intel graphics driver.

3.  bsod...

Is there anyone else with this system+os config using the offical intel hd driver that has got it working?  Also can anyone confirm what is the intel hd driver version under device manage...

Just thought id mention that we have purchased a dedicated nvidia graphics card. Will be trying that in the morning... We just couldnt get the intel hd driver working...
