Have this a6755y Dedsktop that will sometimes not start, sometimes it will!
If it is shut down manually it will usually start. If it goes to sleep after being left on for a while, it will not wake up, and then when you "hard shut it off" to restart it, it will not start.
For a quick fix ( no time to research it) I would unplug the power coord, push the on button to clear out the "residual electricity" (or whatever it is) replug the power coord and it would start. Then that didn't work. So I shut off the battery back uup, turnerd it on, and that usually worked. Now, it takes a combination of several of these two "solutions" to get it to start up.
I looked over the HP web site and cannot figure out if it is a power supply problem, or a "wake up after sleep problem".
The green light on the power supply (back of tower) stays on. Does not flash.
Am thinking of restoring it to a previous restore point. Seems like the problem may have started when I added some HP scanning software, but I am not sure.
Please note this is a regular intermitent problem, not everytime I try to start it.
Any suggestions?

Jeffess, welcome to the forum.
It sounds like you have a failing power supply unit (PSU). Here is a guide to help you troubleshoot the problem.
