HP Pavilion a6813w keeps freezing/ not responding after a few minutes, not depending of what I do [ Edited ]

Windows Vista 64-bit

Pc started freezing not responding yesterday, I have to unplug to turn it off and restart, it will freeze again after 5-10 minutes not depending on what I do. Left it unplugged overnight, still same issue this morning. Please help. 

PS.: never had any issues before, yesterday morning I got to my desk and got a black screen, only cursor showing, unplugged, restarted, and it was extremely slow, than froze after a while. I do leave my pc on 24/7, only turn off the screen.

First you can run a test on the Hard Drive and check what happens.

Testing the Hard Drive Using SMART

If all diagnostics pass for the hard drive then restart the computer in Safe Mode with Networking and check if it freezes there also. If it works fine in Safe Mode then perform a clean boot and check if its better. The links below will guide you how to perform the steps..

It seems to have resolved itself, as long as I shut down when not in use for extended time, it works fine again.

Great..It should be fine. Also make sure all windows updates are downloaded and installed as some of the updates has fix for a similar issue.
