HP Pavilion p6-2054uk wont switch on after power outage

Hi I've just bought a HP Pavilion p6 2000 series, plugged it on a 4 socket extension where I had a laptop and a external drive plugged. I wanted to use another external hard drive so unplugged the one plugged in, but when I plugged the other hard drive instead, there was a power outage and the desktop switched off. Now I can't switch it on again. Tried to change of power cable but nothing. Is this a problem with the power supply? or worse? thanks

Hi,

 

Remove all of the external devices from the PC except keyboard, mouse and monitor. Unplug the PC and hold down the power button for 60 seconds. Now plug the PC into a known good outlet.

 

If the above doesn't work, then try this posted HP article.  Don't skip any steps.
